Sun & Moon Yoga Studio is a place for people to experience and study hatha yoga. We believe in a holistic approach to the study of yoga, giving our students a well-rounded yoga education, bringing in teachers with an eclectic background of yoga. We believe in combining alignment techniques of the body with breath techniques for calming and balancing the mind and the belief and faith that our work feeds us and is fed by the (spirit) Divine Universal Energy present in us all and in all things.

Yoga for Good

Join us at Yoga for Good, as we practice yoga, promote awareness, and raise funds for a variety of very important causes surrounding our community. Experience an all-levels, donation-only class led each month by a different teacher -- one class in Arlington and another in Fairfax, VA. Participants new to yoga are very welcome! 

Classes are held on Saturday afternoons, 4:30 - 5:30.  See below for specific details of upcoming classes.


100 percent of your donation goes directly to chosen nonprofit organizations that work toward the health, education, and general well being of those in need in mind, body, and spirit. The groups we support are primarily in the Washington, DC/Northern Virginia community.  A few of the charities we regularly support include:

Coming Up in Arlington

January 14, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Come practice yoga with Cindy Fagnoni as she leads this All-Levels class to help raise money for Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless.  Created in 1985 by concerned citizens of Arlington and Alexandria, AACH works in coordination with public agencies, businesses and community groups to give homeless people the support, shelter, counseling and employment training they need to regain self-sufficiency.  For more information, visit www.aachhomeless.org

February 18, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Lynne Dreyer will lead an All Levels class to benefit Family PASS, an innovative agency providing shelter and supportive services to homeless families and single adults in Northern Virginia.  Family Pass assists low-income Fairfax County families in crisis to prevent homelessness and establish them as self supporting within the community. The agency is committed to finding creative solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by offering men, women and children the services they need to change their lives and succeed. New Hope Housing serves over 1,200 individuals, including more than 200 children annually.  For more information, visit www.familypassfairfax.org

Join John Sherburne in an All Levels class on behalf of The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.  LDCRF is a non-profit animal rescue organization saving the lives of thousands of homeless and abandoned pets each year. The organization rescues dogs and cats facing euthanasia in overcrowded shelters and works to place them for adoption in loving homes. For more information, visit www.lostdogandcatrescue.org

Coming Up in Fairfax

January 14, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Come practice yoga with Dena Jensen as she leads an All-Levels class to help raise money for the Stuttering Foundation. The Stuttering Foundation provides free online resources, services and support to those who stutter and their families, as well as support for research into the causes of stuttering. They are the first and the largest nonprofit charitable organization in the world working toward the prevention and improved treatment of stuttering, reaching over a million people annually. For more information, visit www.stutteringhelp.org

February 18, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Jennifer Crewalk will guide this All Levels class to benefit the Mariposas and Aguilas Mentoring Programs. These programs are a coordinated effort between the Mu Chapter of Lambda Pi Chi and the Office of Diversity Programs to create a support network for freshmen, sophomores, and newly-transferred
Latinas and Latinos at George Mason University in hopes of promoting academic excellence, retention and leadership on campus.
